A 9-day tour of Japan with 5 days in Kyoto and 4 days in Tokyo, including full-day trips to Hiroshima, Osaka and Mount Fuji. This itinerary offers a mix of cultural experiences, iconic landmarks and scenic views, allowing you to experience the highlights of Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Mount Fuji and Tokyo within a short period.
Day 1: Arrival in Kyoto
Morning: Arrive in Kyoto.
Afternoon:
Check into your hotel and rest .
Take a relaxing stroll around Gion District, Kyoto’s famous geisha district.
Visit Yasaka Shrine and enjoy the traditional tea houses.
Evening: Explore Kiyomizu-dera Temple and enjoy the panoramic views of Kyoto. Overnight stay at Kyoto
Day 2: Kyoto Sightseeing Morning:
Visit Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), one of Kyoto’s most iconic landmarks.
Head to Ryoan-ji, famous for its Zen garden.
Afternoon:
Visit Arashiyama: Walk through the Bamboo Grove, visit Tenryu-ji Temple, and enjoy the scenic views of the Togetsukyo Bridge.
Explore Iwatayama Monkey Park if you have time for a short hike.
Evening: Take a boat ride along the Hozu River or relax in Kiyomizu-dera Temple at sunset. Overnight at Kyoto
Day 3: Full-Day Trip to Osaka
Morning: Take a train from Kyoto to Osaka (about 30 minutes).
Start your day by visiting Osaka Castle, one of Japan’s most famous landmarks.
Explore the surrounding Osaka Castle Park and the museum inside.
Afternoon:
Head to Dotonbori for lunch and experience Osaka’s famous street food like takoyaki (octopus balls) and okonomiyaki (savory pancake).
Explore the bustling Shinsaibashi Shopping Arcade.
Evening:
Visit Umeda Sky Building or Abeno Harukas for incredible views of the city skyline.
Optionally, explore Osaka’s vibrant nightlife in Namba. Overnight at Kyoto
Day 4: Full-Day Trip to Hiroshima
Morning: Take the Shinkansen (bullet train) from Kyoto to Hiroshima (about 2 hours).
Start your visit with the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, home to the A-Bomb Dome, Peace Memorial Museum, and Cenotaph for the Atomic Bomb Victims.
Afternoon:
Take a ferry to Miyajima Island and visit the famous Itsukushima Shrine, known for its “floating” torii gate.
Explore the island, visit Mount Misen (take a ropeway or hike for stunning views of the Seto Inland
Sea).
Evening: Return to Hiroshima and take the Shinkansen back to Kyoto. Overnight at Kyoto
Day 5: Kyoto Sightseeing
Morning: Visit Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its thousands of red torii gates that lead up to the mountain. Afternoon:
Head to Nijo Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and explore its beautiful gardens and historical rooms.
Visit Nishiki Market to enjoy local Kyoto delicacies and shop for souvenirs.
Evening: Relax at the Philosopher’s Path along the canal, especially during cherry blossom season. Overnight at Kyoto
Day 6: Kyoto – Tokyo
Morning: Take the Shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo (about 2.5 hours).
Afternoon:
After checking in, visit Asakusa to see the historic Senso-ji Temple, Tokyo’s oldest temple.
Stroll along the vibrant Nakamise Street leading to the temple, filled with traditional shops and street food.
Evening: Head to Shibuya and see the world-famous Shibuya Crossing. Explore Shibuya Centergai and Hachiko Statue. Overnight at Tokyo
Day 7: Full-Day Trip to Mount Fuji
Morning:
Take a guided day tour to Mount Fuji from Tokyo. The tour usually includes:
A visit to Fuji Five Lakes (Lake Kawaguchiko, Lake Yamanaka) for stunning views of Mount Fuji. Stop at the Chureito Pagoda for one of the most iconic views of Mount Fuji with the pagoda in the foreground.
Afternoon:
Visit Fujisan World Heritage Center to learn about Mount Fuji’s cultural significance.
If time allows, you can visit the Hakone Open Air Museum or take a cruise on Lake Ashi for more scenic views of Mount Fuji.
Evening: Return to Tokyo and enjoy a relaxed evening at Odaiba, a futuristic waterfront area with shopping malls, museums, and the DiverCity Tokyo Plaza. Overnight at Tokyo
Day 8: Tokyo Sightseeing
Morning:
Visit Meiji Shrine, a peaceful shrine surrounded by a lush forest in the heart of Tokyo. Explore Harajuku for trendy shopping, especially Takeshita Street. Afternoon:
Head to Shinjuku: Visit the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building for panoramic views of the city from the observation decks.
Explore Omoide Yokocho and Golden Gai for traditional Japanese bars and eateries.
Evening:
Visit Roppongi Hills for stunning city views from the Mori Tower or enjoy Tokyo’s vibrant nightlife in Roppongi. Overnight at Tokyo
Day 9: Departure from Tokyo
Morning: If time allows, visit Akihabara for electronics, and gaming-related shopping. Afternoon: Check out from your hotel and head to Tokyo Station for your departure.
